Join these 4 Irish rugby stars in a cookery challenge for Damian Browne’s massive adventure

Four of Ireland's biggest rugby names are cooking up a storm for a great cause.

Irish professional rugby player and steely adventurer, Damian Browne, is about to undertake his biggest challenge to date; the Solo Atlantic Challenge. Entirely on his own, departing from San Sebastian, La Gomera, Canary Islands, Damian - who has played for both Connacht and Leinster - will row his boat the ‘Darian’ 4800km across the Atlantic Ocean to Nelson's Dockyard, Antigua. The journey will present plenty of obstacles to overcome; from hurricanes to blistering heat; food and water rations, to sleep deprivation and loneliness on a journey that could take anything from 40 to 90 days approximately depending on the weather. Browne is taking on the Solo Atlantic Challenge to raise funds for his nominated charities Médecins Sans Frontières Ireland, Strong Roots Foundation Rwanda and Irish charity Madra. Miele are delighted to host a fund raising activity for Damian’s Solo Atlantic Challenge on Thursday 24 August. Welcoming Browne to the Miele Experience Centre along with fellow Irish rugby professionals, Rhys Ruddock, Jack McGrath, Kevin McLaughlin and Devin Toner, they will take part in a sports celebrity cook off. Putting their best cooking skills to the test, the guys will be challenged to create a number of delicious dishes to a timer and the audience can test the final dishes and vote for their winner.
