Conor Murray and Johnny Sexton immortalised in bizarre New Zealand song

Wonder what Marvin Gaye would make of this?

“When I’m in a hurry, I need Sexton and Murray.”

One day out from the Second Test between the British & Irish Lions and New Zealand and no-one will forget the tourists’ half-back combination. Conor Murray and Johnny Sexton have been immortalised in song and, by God, it’s catchy.

The Ireland duo are set to take on the All Blacks at Wellington’s ‘Cake Tin’ stadium on Saturday [8:35am kick-off Irish time] and, for the Lions, only a win will do.

The Crowd Goes Wild is a long-running rugby show that relies heavy on comedy and players not taking themselves too seriously. The show famously tricked Brian O’Driscoll and Tana Umaga into signing a civil union agreement during Ireland’s 2006 tour to New Zealand.

This time around, Sexton and Murray get the full-on treatment. The pair’s partnership is gloriously celebrated in a cover version of Marvin Gaye’s Motown classic ‘Sexual Healing’.

It kicks off with, “Oh baby, let’s box-kick tonight!”

It gets better from there and it’s damn catchy.
