England and Sale Sharks full-back Chris Ashton was shown a red card for a tip tackle on Castres scrum-half Rory Kockott in a pre-season friendly last Friday.
Ashton returns to English rugby this season following a sensational year with Toulon last term where he broke the single season record for the most amount of tries scored in a Top14 season with 24 tries in just 23 games.

Earlier this month Ashton was included in England's 44-man pre-season training squad but he could face disciplinary action for his tackle on Kockott if he was found to have violated law 9.18 (A player must not lift an opponent off the ground and drop or drive that player so that their head and/or upper body make contact with the ground).
The 31-year-old's disciplinary hearing will take place in London on Thursday 23 August with Richard Whittam QC to chair the panel and Becky Essex and one other panel member to be confirmed.
