Australian rugby league apologises for revealing player’s favourite swear words on official website

This probably wasn't the greatest idea

Someone in the NRL is probably saying the Aussie version of shite right now

A scan through any GAA match programme from the last 20 odd years will probably show that the popular choice of dinner among the football and hurling fraternity is the good old fashioned steak and chips and that the Shawshank Redemption is the the most popular film.

All fairly normal and boring for the pen profiles you would think. But would you like to know what’s the favourite NSFW utterance out of their mouths?

Well the helpful folk in the Australian rugby league thought to ask each player their thoughts on what their favourite swear word is. And it didn’t go down well.

And now they’ve been forced to apologise after player’s profiles with the swearing included were on the NRL website for months until someone noticed they may not be suitable reading for children.

Warriors player Shaun Johnson’s favourite swear is allegedly F**wit”  while Sam Thaiday revealed his “starts with an s and ends in a t”.

Kurt Gidley went for a more straight forward swear for his choice of blue-language

The profiles were on the website for months until the TV Channel Seven news exposed them, forcing the NRL to remove the offensive material and apologise on their website:
