Jamie Dornan also stars in The Fall but we preferred the chick-lit headline.

The Northern Irish actor, and star of 50 Shades of Grey, has thrown his new-found Hollywood weight behind the campaign to get Craig Gilroy’s wonder-score, for Ulster, voted Guinness PRO12 Try of the Year.

Dornan, who recently showed off his football skills with Rory McIlroy, was also a handy rugby player, back in the day [the noughties].

He is backing Gilroy, his fellow Ulsterman, for the stunner he ran in against Scarlets a couple of months back.

Judging by the responses to Dornan’s tweet, many of his followers could give a rusty tuppence for rugby.

The public vote continues until Saturday, May 9, with the winner announced at the PRO12 awards on May 17.
