VINE: Joseph Duffy makes a successful start to his UFC career with a first round TKO

"Irish Joe" couldn't have dreamed of a better debut

“The last man to beat Conor McGregor” was a moniker that Joseph Duffy must truly have been getting sick of.

The Donegal fighter made his UFC debut tonight and made sure to explode onto the promotion’s lightweight division and cement a dangerous reputation for himself that was strictly based on his abilities.

Duffy moved to 13-1 with a flawless display of striking as he finished his opponent with a definitive first round TKO.

“Irish Joe” looked every bit the professional boxer as he stopped Jake Lindsey on the feet in under two minutes.

After getting Lindsey thinking about his picture-perfect hands, Duffy went upstairs with a high kick that rocked the American before finding a home for a nasty body shot that took everything out of Lindsey.

After the fight, Joe Rogan claimed to have spoken to Duffy’s new head coach Firas Zahabi who revealed that “Irish Joe” had plans on moving to featherweight after this bout.

The Irish takeover shows no sign of stopping as Joseph Duffy switches from “The last man to beat Conor McGregor” to “genuine UFC prospect.”
