Apparently the son of God is a massive fan of the purest form of unarmed combat.
Rafael dos Anjos upset the odds by comprehensively beating favourite Anthony Pettis in the main event at UFC 185 to claim the lightweight strap. Dos Anjos put on a striking clinic against the former champ, connecting with heavy combos and bruising kicks to get the unanimous decision victory in Texas.
The Brazilian's win was impressive because he made an all-out killer, a man who's defeated Donald Cerrone, Gilbert Melendez and twice beaten former champ Benson Henderson look like a mediocre fighter.
In fact, his performance was so immense that after the bout he received plaudits from possibly the most famous celebrity of all. When he went to the stands to show his appreciation for the Texan crowd, none other than the Christian saviour himself outstretched his arm to congratulate the latest UFC champ and, presumably give him some sort of blessing.
There you have it folks, Jesus loves MMA. There's no excuse for it being illegal in New York anymore.
