Makwan Amirkhani had everyone a bit misty-eyed after his phenomenal first round submission victory over Masio Fullen in Berlin. After improving his record inside the Octagon to 2-0, Amirkhani gave an emotional Octagon interview in which he dedicated the win to his mother. As he explained during fight week, his mother had made a lot of sacrifices in order to make sure both him and his sister could have a better life."I live in a house with my mom and sister, our house only has two beds and my mom gave the beds to me and my sister. She sleeps in the living room on a mat. It's not very nice... but, now, I can buy her a bed! With the $50,000 bonus I can hopefully buy her a $10,000 bed that flies!"Amirkhani's mother was seen in the crowd shedding tears of joy after her son's stellar performance, and he was quick to acknowledge her influence on his career.
