Dana White confirms three of Khabib's team mates arrested after disgusting end to UFC 229

Dana White cut a dejected figure after UFC 229 as Khabib Nurmagomedov incited a riot following his win over Conor McGregor.

The Russian fighter was dominant throughout his fight with the Irish man and locked in a neck-crank in round four to seal a decisive victory.

What happened after the fight will go down as one of the most disturbing moments in the history of sport.

Khabib rushed the cage to get at Dillon Danis, whilst other members of his team jumped into the cage and attacked Conor McGregor.

It was a truly disturbing moment.

Dana White tried profusely to calm the situation but there was no calming 'The Eagle'.

The UFC president addressed the situation afterwards and confirmed that three of Khabib's team mates have been arrested as a result of the incident.

"Three of his guys have been arrested and taking to jail.

"Yeah, the three guys that were involved in the incident, or I believe those three are on their way to jail right now." White told UFC tonight reporter Megan Olivi.

White revealed he is disgusted at how the event unfolded, claiming that Khabib did indeed react to something that was said by a team mate of McGregor.

"A lot of bad stuff, a lot of stuff that shouldn't have happened. Khabib jumped over the cage going after one of Conor's guys who I guess was talking trash to him and all hell broke loose.

"This is another, obviously.. I don't even know what to say right now, I am disgusted and sick over it."

Following the incident, Khabib was ushered out of the Octagon without having his belt presented to him. Fans proceeded to throw beer at the Dagestan fighter as he left. White said the decision was taken not to give him his belt in the Octagon because they were afraid what might happen.

"Yeah, I knew that was going to happen, I said 'If we put the belt on him in Octagon, their going to be throwing whatever they got down into the Octagon so I said let's just try get him out of here without any incident."

A clearly dejected White tried to sum up what will happen now citing that there will be a lot of repercussions for Khabib's team, but all he knows now is that three have been taken to jail.

"What happens here is three guys have been arrested, their going to have charges filed against them for sure. God knows what the Nevada State Athletic Commission is going to do Khabib and his guys.

"I think they're fighters. Are these guys ever going to get a visa again to get back in this country? There's a lot of things, a lot of repercussions for what they did tonight."

Dana White has since confirmed that the three members of Khabib's team have been released from police custody after Conor McGregor refused to press charges.
