Travis Browne was able to call for a time-out and get a bone popped back into his busted up hand. The fight should have been stopped and awarded to his opponent Fabricio Werdum.
Fair play to Browne for fighting on but the decision should have been taken out of his hand.
Near the end of the first round, in his heavyweight clash with Werdum at UFC 203, Browne suffered a compound fracture to his finger. A bone popped out and caused him significant discomfort.
Referee Gary Copeland allowed Browne some medical treatment between rounds and he somehow made it to the final buzzer before losing a unanimous decision call to Werdum.
Fellow UFC ref ‘Big’ John McCarthy feels the fight should have been called a Werdum TKO and it is hard to argue against him. Browne’s manager shared a few images with FOX Sports and the true impact of the finger break is apparent.

The medical suspensions for all the UFC fighters that did battle at the Cleveland, Ohio event should be released in the coming hours. We expected Browne to be out for at least three months.
