Miesha Tate bitterly disagrees with Ronda Rousey being labeled world’s most dominant athlete

There’s no love lost between Miesha Tate and UFC champion Ronda Rousey.

Rousey was recently named Sports Illustrated’s “most dominant athlete in the world”, but Miesha Tate thinks that perhaps another star was more deserving of the accolade.

Tate has had a long-running rivalry with Rowdy, stemming from their days in Strikeforce and reaching its peak when the pair coaching opposite each other on “The Ultimate Fighter”. The duo have met twice inside the Octagon and both bouts resulted in Rousey winning via armbar.

Rousey is 11-0 in MMA, with 11 finishes on her record and is arguably the most dominant champion in the promotion. However, Tate just doesn’t think she’s that dominant in the grand scheme of things and cited her Olympic bronze medal in Judo as one of the reasons why.

“I don’t know if that’s an accurate statement. I think there are a lot of athletes in the world. Maybe someone who took a gold medal at the Olympics could be considered more “dominant,” you know?”

“In different sports, it’s hard to compare because we have a fighting sport, versus someone who maybe does swimming or something. An athlete is still an athlete so it’s hard to compare the apples and the oranges because they’re different things, so I don’t know if I agree entirely on that.”

If Tate continues her trash-talking against the undisputed champ, we may very well see the two square off inside the cage again soon.
