Conor McGregor wants to fight Khabib’s manager after UFC 229

Michael Corry

Wow…

Conor McGregor was in full flow last night at the pre-fight press conference for his eagerly awaited fight this weekend with Khabib Nurmagomedov.

As expected ‘The Notorious’ arrived late for the 3pm kick-off which prompted ‘The Eagle’ to leave after answering all of the media’s questions.

This left McGregor with a free reign upon arrival (not that he wouldn’t have had it anyway) and boy did he go to town!

The Dubliner’s opponent is normally quite reserved, but he has had a lot to say in the build-up to this fight, with comments about the Irish language and McGregor’s family supposedly fighting for the British sure to get under the Crumlin fighter’s skin.

When asked about these comment’s McGregor came out firing, claiming that Khabib should not be taking information from a ‘snitch’ which was a clear reference to Khabib’s manager Ali Abdelaziz who has, let’s just say, a shady history.

“You should never take information from an informant. You should keep distance from the informant at all times, and that’s putting it to the media, that’s the friendly way of putting it it.

“His manager is a snitch, a rat.”

The SBG fighter believes that Khabib is taking information from his manager and relaying it to the public in order to get under the skin of Conor McGregor.

It sounds like a good tactic to be fair, fight fire with fire some might say. Nobody in the past has tried to play McGregor at his own game like this before.

However, from what we saw last night, the mind games don’t seem to work against ‘The Notorious’

“Don’t ever take information from an informant and that’s what that man is doing he’s a rat bastard and I am going to get him on Saturday night.”

It isn’t the first time McGregor has brought up Abdelaziz’s shady past. The Dubliner called out the controversial manager during the face-off in New York two weeks ago.

“I know a lot about you as well, you mad rat,” McGregor roared in Abdelaziz’s direction.

“I know a lot about you as well. You keep your mouth shut, kid.

“Let me take my picture. How’s Noah? Shut your mouth. Never speak about me, ever in your life. Watch yourself around me because you’ll be out of here quick.”

It was a reference that many found confusing, luckily investigative journalist Mike Russell, who has been digging into the controversial manager’s past life was able to give us some indication of what McGregor was referring to.

Later on when the SBG fighter was asked who was next on his radar he once again brought up Khabib’s manager citing that he would love to fight him once UFC 229 is out of the way.

“I don’t know, we’ll see. I’d like to fight Ali, I’d like to fight that rat bastard, I’d like to fight him somewhere, where’s he at, mouthing out of him non-stop. He’s had a few fights.”

When one reporter then informed McGregor that Khabib had previously stated on the Ariel Helwani show that Ali Abdelaziz would ‘choke him out’, the Irishman seemed happy to let him come and try.

“Lovely, get the fight promo started, a snitch versus an Irish proper animal lets go.”

He is pumped!

The biggest fight in UFC history is now only one day away!

Wow!
