Domestic disturbances

He may have been arrested on six charges by police last week, but former UFC fighter and TUF 1 contestant Chris Leben wants us to know one thing.

None were because of domestic violence.

The fighter has responded to various media reports that his arrest was in connection with domestic abuse, but he says that’s not the case.

The 35-year-old was arrested last Wednesday on charges of possession of an assault weapon, two counts of vandalism, two counts of trespassing and a count of violating a temporary order of protection according to San Diego police.

Leben famously has been battling an alcohol problem for the last number of years while he also had had his issues with the law in terms of drug abuse.

However he’s dismissed the domestic violence accusations and in fact says that he is the victim of alleged assaults form his estranged wife Kaleena,

“I’m an outlaw with ethics. You know what I’m saying? There’s honor among thieves. There’s certain laws I don’t f*cking believe in and there [are] others I believe in. There’s a certain way I live my life and one thing I would never do is beat or hurt a woman ever. And any man that ever does that is a f*cking piece of sh*t and deserves to get shot in the head. I’ve never done anything like that.”

“When it’s 2 a.m. and my wife decides to attack me and I have to run barefoot out of the house and find somewhere to sleep, it’s tough.

“And I put up with that for years.”

He spent four nights in jail after his arrest and is currency out on bail and is due back in court on August 3rd.
