Sad news as legendary jockey Paul Carberry forced to retire under doctor’s orders

Paul Carberry may have hung up his silks for good, but he has already solidified his legacy as one of the all-time greats of the sport of Kings.

The Grand National-winning jockey has been forced to retire from racing at due to a long-standing leg injury. Carberry revealed to Press Association Sport that he has retired from the saddle under doctor's instructions, after not racing competitively since breaking his femur in a heavy fall at Listowel last year. (quotes via the Guardian)
"I saw my surgeon today and he advised me to stop. My leg's not strong enough. I feel gutted." "I don’t know yet what I’ll do. I’m breaking a few horses in to start with.”
 The racing world has been paying their respects to the 42-year-old Dubliner's stories career following the sad news that he has rode his last ever race.
