Trainer Oliver Sherwood wins second Gold cup title
Leighton Aspell guided home Many Clouds to the Hennessy Gold Cup crown in the feature race of the day cross-channel today at Newbury.
The Grand national winning jockey saw home the 8-1 shot just ahead of Houblon Des Obeaux who kept on for second at a massive 50-1 with Tony McCoy's Merry King third.
Sherwood previously took the Grade Three feature in 1990 with Arctic Call while The Willie Mullins' mount Djakadam, made some impressive early running but faded towards the end.
The horse has now been quoted at about 16-1 for the Cheltenham Gold cup in March
