Kerry woman lands €20,000 with incredible Rose of Tralee-inspired accumulator

That’s some good betting.

A woman in Kerry landed almost €20,000 at the weekend thanks to an audacious €7 bet.

Punting on five races across three different British tracks on Saturday, the Tralee native seemed to draw inspiration from home for two 8/1 long shots at Haydock.

One winner was trained by a woman named Kerry. The other by a woman called Rose. Take from that what you will but Hayley O’Connor from Ladbrokes – where the bet was placed – was impressed regardless.

“Coincidence or stroke of genius? Who knows, but hats off to her,” she said. “Whether she’s a form buff or Rose of Tralee fan, it’s paid off!”

Haydock Races

Her five-pick accumulator was as follows:

Yala Enki in the 13.15 at Ascot at odds of 2/1 trained by Venetia Williams.
Vyta Du Roc in the 13.50 at Ascot at odds of 100/30 trained by Nicky Henderson.
Bishops Road in the 14.40 at Haydock at odds of 8/1 trained by Kerry Lee.
Jonniesofa in the 16.25 at Haydock at odds of 8/1 trained by Rose Dobbin.
Gala Ball in the 17.05  at Wincanton at odds of 11/10 trained by Philip Hobbs.

Stake: €7
Winnings: €19,646.55

Not half bad.
