Irish jockey Eddie Creighton has been placed in an induced coma after a fall at a Melbourne racecourse.

Creighton was riding at Warrnambool on Saturday when he was unseated after his horse The Walrus stumbled early in a race. He was conscious after the fall and was initially reported to have suffered a suspected broken arm and concussion. However,  his condition deteriorated at Warrnambool Base Hospital and he was transferred to Melbourne for further treatment. Hat-tip to BBC
