The perfect weather for a big weekend of racing.

You couldn’t have planned this any better. Summer has landed just in time for the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Festival, which takes place from Friday, 29 June, to Sunday, 1 July. Get that sun cream out, give yourself a betting budget and get ready to enjoy three days of amazing racing action in the sun.

Regardless of whether you’re a racing fanatic or just a good weather punter, you won’t be disappointed. The Irish Derby itself is the richest race run in Ireland, with prize money of €1.5million, so you can expect a stacked racecard.

The early odds have Saxon Warrior as the favourite in the Derby ahead of Dee Ex Bee. Saxon Warrior will be looking to make amends for a disappointing performance in the English equivalent of the Derby.

The action gets underway at 5.35pm on Friday and the card includes will include the JOE Handicap at 6.35pm, the Her.ie Apprentice Derby at 7.10pm and the SportsJOE Maiden at 8.55pm.
