Bob’s Worth and Lord Windemere, the last two winners, have been entered.

The race won’t run until March 13 but today is the first step in the build-up to the Cheltenham Gold Cup. Today, the list of entries was revealed and 35 horses have put their names down for the blue riband of National Hunt racing.

The headline makers are the two previous winners, 2013’s Bob’s Worth and last year’s winner Lord Windemere, who are both going again but there are a host of juicy horses in the hunt at this stage.

Silviniaco Conti, a hugely impressive King George winner over Christmas, leads the charge from Paul Nicholls’ yard and is the early favourite at 5/2.

Al Ferof, Black Thunder, Sam Winner and Unioniste are also entered by Nicholls.

Road To Riches, who romped to victory in the Lexus Chase at Leopardstown, is one of 13 Irish entered at this stage and you can back Michael O’Leary’s Noel Meade trained eight-year-old at 8/1.

Speaking of Irish trainers, Willie Mullins has five in, with On His Own, Ballycasey, Boston Bob, Champagne Fever and Djakadam.
