A brutal final hole at Cadillac Championship saw the Irish golfer almost launch his club into the lake again
Despite all the great golf, and the drama, of the Cadillac Championship this weekend, Rory McIlroy launching his 3 iron into the lake at Trump National Doral on Friday is the take away memory. In the end, McIlory battled back to record a top 10 finish, but the club was the big story and the world No 1 was reunited with it at the start of his final round on Sunday. Try as he might, McIlroy was too far off the leaders to make a real charge at the title and all hope of a really good round ended when he plonked the ball in the lake at 18 not once but twice.
