The mug shot is grim

Tiger Woods was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in the early hours of Monday morning in Jupiter, Florida.

According to WPTV, Woods was pulled over at 3am.

Woods was taken into custody in Jupiter, where the 14-time major champion lives.

Palm Beach Country jail records obtained by WPTV say Woods was released from custody at 10.50am on Monday.

Woods is no stranger to car accidents, after a crash in 2009 led to the emergence of his highly-publicised sex scandal, which sparked a downward spiral in the American’s career.
Woods’ last major win came at the US Open in 2008, and he hasn’t threatened at a Major since then, with his career in free-fall.

Woods has missed all major tournaments for the past two years thanks to a back injury.

The American had fusion surgery to address the issue in April and claimed last week that he hasn’t ‘felt this good in years’.

“I want to say unequivocally, I want to play professional golf again,” Woods said in a statement on his website on Wednesday.

“Presently, I’m not looking ahead. I can’t twist for another two and a half to three months. Right now, my sole focus is rehab and doing what the doctors tell me. I am concentrating on short-term goals.”

These revelations are the latest scandal to emerge in Woods’ career and it appears increasingly unlikely that he will ever return to top level golf.
