Bet it gets boring after three or four years

The former Leinster and Ireland star has missed the latest O’Driscoll family drama as he earns a corn as HSBC brand ambassador in Abu Dhabi.

The 35-year-old took part in the 2015 Abu Dhabi Championship Pro-Am on Wednesday and was partnered by South African golfer George Coetzee. He had a reasonable round, off a nine handicap, and recorded a solitary birdie on the 10th hole.

O’Driscoll’s daughter, Sadie, is currently battling chicken pox but she may have to do with soothing words over Skype. The chicken pox struck as O’Driscoll was en-route to the Middle East for a spot of corporate work, with Tim Henman and Rory McIlroy, no less.. He may be a living legend but he did not have the power to turn the flight back.

Following a hard days golfing, interviews and rugby clinics, O’Driscoll was fortunate enough that the local bar was well staffed:

O’Driscoll can not hang around for the weekend as he is due back to our shores for a spot of Champions Cup punditry.
