Pic: Florida golfer witnesses latest instalment in Alligator Vs Python

Anyone who has played golf in Florida will likely have seen an alligator or two (and hurriedly scuffed a shot away from the reptile).

But we've certainly never seen an enormous snake, nor have we witnessed the two massive predators engaged in a battle to the death. That was the scene at Fiddlers Creek in the town of Naples, where local man Pat Aydelott snapped this shot of the animals fighting it out at the edge of a lake (before, presumably, running for his life). Our money is on the 'gator, by the way. He looks to have passed the snake's guard and just has a free run at his midsection.
