VINE: Tiger Woods’ US Open summed up perfectly in five cruel seconds

Down, down, down

We couldn’t have put it better ourselves

Tiger Woods is back breaking records at the US Open.

Hell, it’s almost like the good old days when he crushed his opponents week-in, week-out.

Unfortunately this time it’s the wrong kind of records as the 14-time Major winner hit the worst round of his career at a US Open with an 80 to sink to fourth from bottom of the leaderboard at Chambers Bay, and 10 over par in total.

One birdie in his whole round has seen the steady decline of the former world No 1 continue, and in the massive bunkers on the course that caught out several of the world’s top golfers, this vine captures the sad, and we’re pretty sure terminal, decline of one of the biggest sportsmen on the planet.

If it was us we’d probably never get back out of the sandtrap. Tiger’s day was so bad that he started doing things that you’d laugh at if it was one of your mates on the par three.

Oh dear!

The lead after the first round is held by Dustin Johnson and Henrik Stenson on 5-under, while Shane Lowry is best of the Irish on 1-under. Rory McIlroy is +2, Graeme McDowell is +4.
