Life’s a doddle when you close in on €6.8m purse… just ask Graeme McDowell

Sun, selfies and swagger: McDowell leading the way for big purse in Shanghai

Return of the Mac!  Sing along: return of the Mac.

G-Mac is back.

Graeme McDowell has just fired his way into a two-shot lead at the HSBC Champions tournament in Shanghai with a round of 67, including seven birdies.

The event, the only World Golf Championships to be held outside of the USA, offers an $8.5 million purse and, despite suffering two late bogeys, the Northern Ireland man has shot out in front.

And he made it look easy in the Shanghai sun as McDowell effortlessly strutted around the course and even stopped to take a selfie snap with a few fans during an earlier practice.  It’s a nice life sometimes.
