"I sent Richie Hogan a text one evening - I send him a lot of texts trying to get him on the show but it never works out," Parkinson explained. "I sent him a message anyway and Richie text me back about 11 o'clock at night - he was in the Middle East. "Then, when I woke up the next morning, I had three WhatsApp voice recordings on my phone and they were all from Richie Hogan. I went, 'what the hell is going on with this fella?'"Listen to the voice recording below - from 12:40. Hogan only wanted to defend his singing voice though. Wooly: Richie, you could be in the charts here! Hogan: I would love to have seen your face when you got that! Wooly: I couldn't believe it. The first thing that popped into my head was 'I'm definitely playing these on the show'. I text you saying you're going to hear these again. Hogan: To be fair to me, I actually suggested that you play them the next time I come on the show. I actually am quite a good singer - you wouldn't think it from that - but I genuinely am. I was doing a bit of work in the Middle East and my girlfriend kept ringing me at maybe 8 or 9 o'clock (Irish time) and the time difference was five hours so it was like 1 or 2 o'clock in the morning. So I said I'd leave her a message when I get up. You know when you're kind of half awake at five or six o'clock in the morning and when a message does come up on your WhatsApp, you click it just to see? I was trying to wake her up early but it kind of backfired. He took it like a champ at least.
