That’s a lot of camogie gear!
If you’ve ever dreamed of playing in Croke Park during the Liberty Insurance All-Ireland Camogie Final, then you’ll want to keep reading. Not only that, but there’s also a chance to win €7,000 for your club in the process.
SportsJOE and Her.ie are teaming up with Liberty Insurance, the Official Sponsor of the Camogie Championships, to organize a half-time event during the Liberty Insurance All-Ireland Camogie Final on 9 September. We’ll be fielding a SportsJOE and a Her team who’ll go head-to-head in a test of skill and nerve.
Think you have what it takes to represent SportsJOE on the day? Well, we want to hear how camogie made you ready for the real world. You can check out the above video with Mags for some inspiration.
This is what you need to do:
- Tell us in 150 words or less what skills camogie has given you, and how you’ve used those skills off the pitch. Closing date for entries is Tuesday, 7 August.
- The ten best entries will then be asked to submit a video telling us their story of how camogie made them ready for the real world.
The videos (five from Her and five from SportsJOE) will then be whittled down to just two, with the help of an online poll. The two finalists will be announced on August 21 and will train with representatives from Her and SportsJOE before the final live skills challenge on September 9.
The winning team will nab €7,000 for their club while the runner-up will win €3,000. The other eight shortlisted clubs will all bag a prize of €500 each. Everyone wins!
Your players will need to be aged between 12 and 18 to take part and you’ll be submitting a team of five players. Each team will be joined by a SportsJOE and Her representative. The two winning clubs will meet up with the SportsJOE and Her reps before the big day to train together and get to know each other.
You’ll have until 7 August to enter your video but don’t leave it too late. We’re looking forward to picking one lucky club to represent SportsJOE on the day. Good luck!
