Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s shot conversion rate is much worse than you’d be led to believe

Zlatan Ibrahimovic's style for Manchester United has been very minimalist.

The 35-year-old, understandably, needs to conserve energy and doesn't exactly run the channels, remaining within the width of the opposition penalty area and acting as a target man. Which is fair enough, the 6'5 striker is experienced and talented enough to know how to play to his strengths at this stage of his career. It appears less is more for Zlatan, expect when it comes to shooting. Ibrahimovic has taken 28 shots in the Premier League so far this season - the most by any striker in the division - and has scored four goals. That leaves him with a shot conversion rate of 14.29 per cent, the worst of any striker, with the exception of Wayne Rooney, in England's top flight, according to The Sun. Diego Costa is the deadliest marksman so far this season. The Chelsea striker has a conversion rate of 33.33 per cent thanks to his six goals from 18 shots. Romelu Lukaku is in second place, with a 29.41 per cent conversion rate, having scored five goals in six games and taking 17 shots for Everton. Sergio Aguero is third. The Manchester City striker has five goals in four games and a conversion rate of 26.32 per cent.
