VIDEO: WWE star Sheamus offers solution to Martin Skrtel’s ongoing calamities

We don’t think any Liverpool fans would disagree.

Martin Skrtel was meant to be Liverpool’s answer to Nemanja Vidic when he signed for the Reds eight years ago.

Unfortunately, in recent times he has become more akin to Djimi Traore with his error prone displays causing jitters at the heart of the Liverpool rearguard.

Irish fans got a chance to see the Slovakia captain at his very worst last month when he anchored a shaky defence at the Aviva in the 2-2 draw with Ireland.

It looks as though his time at Anfield is very much up this summer, but before he hits the exit door, WWE star Sheamus thinks he may have a final solution to ‘fix’ the defender’s regular brain farts.

The Irish wrestler spoke to the Men in Blazers TV show last night, and revealed his unique training approach to sort out the centre-half.

“One brogue kick, fella. That’s about it. Just put him down, put him down so he can’t cause any more calamities in the team. I do like Skrtel, he’s been a great servant, but man, it’s tough to watch.”

If you don’t know what a brogue kick is – let us enlighten you.

We’re sure Jurgen Klopp wouldn’t go to extreme measures, although after the performance against Southampton last month, perhaps maybe Sheamus could be onto something for the Slovak.
