Wojciech Szczesny fined for smoking in the showers after Arsenal’s loss to Southampton

What a weird place to smoke

We’re not big smokers at SportsJOE so are far from experts but we reckon the shower is not the most ideal place to enjoy a fag.

Well Wojciech Szczesny felt the urge to spark up while giving himself a scrub and he did just that, much to the chagrin of his manager.

Arsene Wenger has slapped the Polish international with a €25,ooo fine for his cheeky puffing after Szczesny was reportedly caught smoking after Arsenal’s New Year’s Day defeat at Southampton.

The Arsenal number one had a game to forget that day as two defensive errors on his behalf led to the Saints’ goals.

Szczesny didn’t start the last game for the Gunners but it’s unknown whether that was a thought-out dropping or whether Wenger was always going to rest him in order to give David Ospina a run out.

We’ll know exactly how much trouble he’s in, though, if he doesn’t feature when Arsenal host Stoke on Sunday.

He’s obviously been hanging around with the bold boys too much.
