Why was a Chelsea defender apologising to Anthony Martial after last night’s game

Sorry for what?

Kevin McGillicuddy

Anthony Martial was so so unlucky not to score in last night’s game at Old Trafford.

The France international hit the butt of the post in the first half of the 0-0 draw with Chelsea that means Manchester United are now eight games without a win.

Louis van Gaal is still in his job (just checked there to be sure) after being frustrated by Guus Hiddinks charges.

Martial got much quieter in the second half thanks in the main to efforts from his friend, and direct opponent last night, Kurt Zouma.

The players are known to be friendly off the pitch, but even still it was odd to see the defender say sorry to the striker on Instagram after the game.

Very Tough game today, good point.. let’s keep it up… Sorry my bro

We would imagine it’s for this perfectly timed tackle, or perhaps it was for the fact that the 20-year-old has endured a tough few months since his blistering start to the season.

Or maybe it’s something else.

Puzzling, but still, everyone loves an apology don’t they.
