Wayne Rooney has landed a major new role in a return to football just over a month after departing Plymouth Argyle.
The Manchester United and England icon will join Prime Video for the coverage of Manchester City's blockbuster Champions League clash versus Real Madrid on Tuesday.
Leaving The Pilgrims right at the end of December after 'mutually parting ways', Argyle had won only four matches and remain rooted to the foot of the Championship table.
With Rooney stepping back into punditry initially through The Overlap's Stick to Football podcast, he will now be back in the studio to analyse one of Europe's biggest clashes.
Alongside Rooney will be former Liverpool star attacker Daniel Sturridge, three-time Premier League champion Gael Clichy and the legendary Clarence Seedorf.
Anchoring the matchday show will be Gabby Logan, with Jon Champion and Alan Shearer both on commentary.
In an official statement, Prime said: "Prime has signed England and Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney to its UEFA Champions League punditry team, and he will make his debut tomorrow night when Manchester City take on Real Madrid in the first leg of their heavyweight Knockout Phase Play-Off clash.
"UCL winner Rooney will join Daniel Sturridge, Clarence Seedorf and Gael Clichy on the punditry team at the Etihad Stadium tomorrow night. The group will provide expert analysis from the moment coverage starts at 6.30pm, ahead of the 8pm kick-off available exclusively on Prime.
"Prime Video’s inaugural season of UEFA Champions League coverage in the UK and Ireland includes the top-pick match every Tuesday which is available to millions of households at no extra cost to their Prime membership."
