Like him or loathe him but Wayne Rooney is a survivor.
The Manchester United forward is about to make his 500th appearance for the club this afternoon as Old Trafford welcomes Norwich in the Premier League.
The England forward is much maligned but he will join an exclusive 500+club this afternoon when he kicks off with his teammates.
Today’s milestone will mean that Rooney will be just 29 appearances behind club legend and all round nice Denis Irwin in the top ten record.
The Cork man was pretty much an ever present for a decade at Old Trafford under Alex Ferguson, and is 8th in the top ten list of the players with the most appearances for the Red Devils.
