WATCH: Topless pitch invader scores and remarkably, the last-minute equaliser stood

Referee!

Ben Kiely

This gives Darren Bent’s infamous beach ball goal against Liverpool a serious run for its money.

It was a massive weekend for sport with the Super Bowl, the Six Nations and the Korean Zombie’s highly-anticipated return. So it’s understandable if any of you missed the big game in the Honduran league between Olimpia and Motagua.

Those troopers who managed to find a stream of the game were rewarded for their commitment to obscure Central American football, although it didn’t look that was going to be the case after a goalless first half. However, things began to pick up after the break when five goals were scored in a game that ended as a 2-2 draw.

Montagua made it 2-1 in the 88th minute, but as the old adage goes, a team is at its weakest just after they’ve scored a goal. A sure-fire way to boost your chances of capitalising on this truth is to offer up some sort of wacky distraction while on the attack. This came for Olimpia in the 93rd minute, when a well-worked team move ended in two goals, only one of which counted.

Just when Roger Rojas was firing the ball into the net to level the tie in dramatic fashion, a pitch invader, who had entered the field from the other end, coolly slotted his own ball past the Montagua goalkeeper.

Cue the inevitable shitstorm as the away players let out their frustration over the referee failing to stop the game despite there being an an extra ball and body on the field.
