WATCH: Steven Gerrard scores outrageous goal with utterly sublime first touch

So, so close.

There was a sold out Anfield today for the clash between a Liverpool Legends XI v Real Madrid Legends XI.

The match is being held in support of the LFC foundation, the club’s official charity.

Almost 54,000 fans have packed out the famous venue and when you see the kind of talent on display on the pitch, it’s not hard to see why.

The home side have the likes of Steven Gerrard, Luis Garcia, Gary McAllister, Jamie Carragher, Vladimir Smicer, Daniel Agger and John Arne Riise with Robbie Fowler captaining the side.

Madrid on the other hand, have Roberto Carlos, Luis Figo, Emilio Butragueño and Steve McManaman donning the famous white strip.

Liverpool won the game 4-3 and it’s is safe to say that Gerrard stamped his authority on the game.

The 36-year-old provided two assists, a goal and smashed the crossbar from 25 yards out.

His goal, which put Liverpool 4-0 up, is truly special.

Gerrard controls the ball with an outrageous first-touch after it has been crossed in.

He then smashes the ball beyond the goalkeeper on the volley.
