This is undoubtedly our favourite beach ball appearance since the one that perplexed Pepe Reina in 2009.
Thank Christ the inflatables weren’t banned from football stadiums in the wake of Sunderland’s freak winner over Liverpool because, if that had happened, we would have been denied one of the most glorious goal celebrations of the century.
In an ill-tempered Old Firm derby, Celtic defender Mikael Lustig forgot about all the bad blood as he jogged the length of the pitch to celebrate Moussa Dembele’s second of the match.
A 2-0 lead set the tone for what would turn out to be a 5-1 thrashing and Lustig enjoyed every second of it.
But his favourite second would have come when, with a green and white beach ball as a hat, he gave a subtle nod in the direction of Rangers midfielder Joey Barton as if to say ‘unlucky’.
Drink it in in all its way-funnier-than-it-should-be glory.
