The fact that this wondergoal left Gianluigi Buffon flummoxed should tell you all you need to know about its quality.
Israel may have lost 3-1 to Italy on Monday night, but they will claim a moral victory for grabbing the goal of the game courtesy of Tal Ben Haim (no, not that one).
The Maccabi Tel Aviv winger found the net with a sensational lob that went sailing over the legendary shot-stopper.
After a poor clearance from Giorgio Chiellini, the ball was headed straight into the path of Ben Haim who darted to the edge of the box and let fly with the outstanding strike.

The real story here isn’t the goal or the fact that Buffon was beaten though, it’s that there are two Tal Ben Haims, both of which play for Israel. To distinguish himself from the Portsmouth defender, the goalscoring Ben Haim adds a ‘C’ to the beginning of his surname on the back of his jersey.
Every day’s a school day.
