We may never see another goalscorer like Robbie Keane.
So on his final night in the green of Ireland, it’s no surprise to see so many fellow sporting legends come out in force to congratulate a superstar for a career of net-finding.
Keane bowed out as he should have, with a goal… his 68th in 146 games for the Republic.
And prior to his final appearance, tributes were showered on Ireland’s No. 10.
Paul O’Connell, Brian O’Driscoll, Paul Galvin, Mick McCarthy, Bernard Dunne – to name a few – all praised the 36-year-old from Tallaght who went on to become a hero for so many.
