VINE: Getting a rare start for Bayern Munich clearly got the better of Pepe Reina today

Goalkeeper sent-off after 13 minutes

Manuel Neuer was probably planning a relaxing Saturday afternoon

Pepe Reina has had the best seat in the house to watch Bayern Munich steam-roll their way to another Bundesliga title this season, as he’s only played two games for the club all year.

The former Liverpool man is second to Manuel Neuer, but with the German title well wrapped up at this stage, he earned a rare start for Pep Guardiola’s side today at home to Augsburg.

Clearly the excitement got to the Spaniard ,who managed to concede a penalty and get sent off when bundling over Raul Bobadilla after just 13 minutes.

We’d class it as your typical GAA ‘welcome to the game’ shoulder bump, but the player didn’t take the contact well and fell over to win his side the spot-kick.

As a result Manuel Neuer was roused from his slumber on the bench, and was subbed on in place of Philipp Lahm.

His first action was to stare down the peno which was missed as Paul Verhaegh cracked his shot against the post.

Being down to ten men has come back to haunt the champions as Raul Bobadilla  has just scored after 70 minutes with Munich now staring down the barrel of a fourth straight loss.
