VINE: Emre Can’s learning some local Liverpool phrases from his teamates

We love a German-Scouse mix

Coming to a new city can be tough.

You have to get used to a new life, you don’t know anyone and if you arrive in Liverpool then the language barrier might be an issue too. The locals on Merseyside have some of the most distinct accents in the world and it’s not always clear what they might be saying to you.

But Emre Can seems to be picking up a few tips from his team-mates on how best to interact with the people of the city, if this recent interview for Liverpool FC is anything to go by.

The German born defender admits that one of the few English phrases he knows now after almost six months in England is: ‘Lad, that’s boss.’  If he was in Ireland it would probably roughly translate to ‘That’s class, lad.’

Anyone suspect that Jamie Carragher might have had a hand in this? Or maybe its all to do with the famous 23 jersey?

Either way, top marks, lad.
