Wade Barrett reckons that Wayne Rooney would be perfect for the WWE, but for all the wrong reasons.

The WWE star and diehard Preston North End fan has held a grudge against the England striker ever since he scored a penalty against his beloved club in the FA Cup earlier this season. Barrett got into a bit of a beef with Rooney over social media after the match, which appeared to die down. That is until the wrestler tried to reignite his feud with Rooney with these very backhanded comments about the forward's popularity.

"I think Wayne Rooney would be great in the WWE. I mean he's universally hated which is pretty much my job in the WWE. He's very good at getting booed. He's very good at getting a reaction. He's obviously a great athlete." "The question is, is he up to task of stepping into the ring with some of the toughest guys in the world, like me. that remains to be seen."
