Lots and lots of hard graft.

Vincent Kompany’s return from injury may have come all too late for Manchester City as the Belgian defender has seen his side slip off the pace in the Premier League title race.

However he will be back for their Champions League action over the coming weeks, as well as City’s pursuit of both the League cup and FA Cup.

He will also captain Belgium against the Republic of Ireland at Euro 2016.

The defender missed almost two full months after the recurrence of a calf injury that has limited him to 10 Premier League appearance for Manuel Pellegrini’s side this season.

However he’s back now, and in the hours after Sunday’s 2-1 home reversal to Tottenham, the centre-half shared an incredibly insightful video on the pain and agony he put his body through to return for the second half of the season.

The defender shows off the intense physical work he put in at the gym as well as how playing keepy-uppies with a rugby ball formed a key part of his recovery plan too.

Oh and it also features a mud-bath weirdly.
