The much maligned backheel penalty is one of the most high-risk pieces of showboating in soccer. If you fail to score, you face a deluge of abuse from your supporters and teammates for being so wasteful. However, even if you do find the net, you still face a probable slagging for being shamefully flamboyant with a bog-standard spot kick. A player in the Peruvian second division had the temerity to try one of these incredibly tricky shots recently, with hilarious results. Take Roma legend Francesco Totti for example. His training ground effort was a thing of beauty, executed with the finesse and grace the skill shot so desperately deserves.
