All roads lead to Rio next year and the FAI are looking for players.
The Ireland Paralympic squad are on the look out for the next potential star as they begin their preparations for the 2016 Paralympic Games in Brazil.
Having finished sixth at the the Cerebral Palsy World Cup, the squad are now looking to bolster their ranks and are offering trials to the best players around the country with Cerebral Palsy, Acquired Brain injury, or those who have suffered a stroke.
This a chance to represent Ireland at one of the world’s biggest sporting events, in Rio de Janeiro.
The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) and Paralympics Ireland are holding a trial day at the FAI National Training Centre in Abbotstown on Saturday, December 12 at 12pm.
Any players aged between 16 and 30 years old, who have any of the aforementioned impairments, are eligible to try out for the squad, which currently includes players from some of the best leagues around the country and will be travelling to Brazil in the hope of winning gold.
Cerebral Palsy football is a 7-a-side game played on all surfaces with a smaller pitch and smaller goals. Check out this video to learn more
