Video: Spartak Moscow in touching gesture for 102-year-old fan who had life savings robbed

Great stuff

This is how a football club should treat their die-hard fans.

Spartak Moscow might have claimed the coveted “Soundest Club of the Week” accolade after their response to an elderly fan getting grifted out of a substantial amount of money.

When Spartak discovered that 102-year-old Otto Fischer had his entire life-savings robbed by a conman posing as a social worker, they immediately took action.

The club started a fundraising campaign to help the elderly man reclaim his life’s earnings.

Eventually, the Spartak first-team managed to raise 500,000 rubles (roughly €7,900), which star striker Vyacheslav Krotov presented to Otto on live TV.

Otto was then invited to the Moscow derby as Spartak’s guest of honour where he was essentially treated like royalty, being given a VIP tour of the stadium.

Check out the news report of the touching story below.
