Liverpool slumped to a 2-1 loss to Manchester United last Sunday in front of the gaze of one of the greatest footballers of all time. Brazilian legend Pele was a guest of honour at Anfield thanks to one of the Reds partners who invited him over to catch the action. He was treated to a a fairly mixed game, with the home side underperforming while Juan Mata’s amazing second goal settled the clash.
This morning Liverpool have released a short video of the various highlights of his trip, which included being fed a footlong by Robbie Fowler and meeting Lucas and Phillipe Coutinho before the game. He was also presented with a plaque on the pitch as fans from both sides took to their feet to acclaim the football maestro.
We hope Fowler and McManaman got time to make some food for themselves.
