There were some pretty disgusting scenes during Barcelona’s scoreless draw to Espanyol on Saturday.
Barcelona superstar Neymar was the target of alleged racial abuse during the match. Video evidence seems to suggest the Brazilian was subjected to monkey chants by the Expanyol supporters.
When Barcelona visited Espanyol last season, several of their players including Neymar, Leo Messi and Luis Suarez were subjected to racist chanting, and it appears the same thing has happened again.
In the video embedded below, monkey chants are very clearly heard as Neymar takes possession of the ball on the right channel.
Andreas Iniesta told reporters after the game that he had heard racist chanting “in one corner, in the first half, from one supporter.”
