VIDEO: Martin Odegaard’s neat touches can’t prevent a nightmare starting debut for Norway

16-year-old can't rescue abysmal performance

The boy looks like he can cut it at international level

As starting debuts go it wasn’t the best. Last night the most-hyped teenager in the world Martin Odegaard made a little bit of history for himself. By starting Norway’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Croatia, he became  the youngest ever European to start an international game. That was the good news.

The bad news was despite several neat touches and some good footwork he couldn’t help his side as they slumped to a 5-1 loss in the Stadion Maksimir.

The 16-year-old has been linked with various loan moves to the Premier League and it certainly looks like he would have the skills and quick feet needed to get away from players looking to hack him down at every opportunity.
