Celtic might be running away with the Scottish Premiership title again this season but at least one Irishman did his very best to make it an interesting race.

Adam Rooney has been in inspired form for Aberdeen this season and is on the verge of scoring 30 league goals for the Dons.

The 27-year-old who’s had previous spells at Inverness Caledonian Thistle, is in his first full season with Aberdeen after making his loan move from Oldham permanent last summer.

In his 43 games so far this season he’s bagged 27 goals which has fired Aberdeen to second place including this screamer in January

Also nominated for the prize is Celtic duo  Virgil van Dijk and Stefan Johansen while Dundee striker Greg Stewart is also on the shortlist
