Sometimes as sports writers, when putting together a story about Diego Maradona, we almost don’t believe our own words because his antics are so inconceivably mad.
The Argentine legend completely lost the plot in a charity game today which was ironically called “Match for Peace.”
The event looked to be going swimmingly with the 54-year-old even managing to find the net in the game.
But he just couldn’t help himself from immersing himself in controversy when a kerfuffle broke out at full-time as fans ran to take photos with the footballing icon.
The below video appears to show Maradona kicking out at stewards while making his way from the pitch in an act so unthinkably stupid that we had to watch it three times to make sure our eyes weren’t playing tricks on us.
